Athletics Canada’s 2019 Championship Series will begin in March with the Hershey U16, U18, U20 Indoor Championships.
Following positive feedback of the U16 pilot program held in 2018, the full slate of events will be offered and national championships discerned in the under 16 age category. Athletics Canada also used feedback from clubs and coaches to move the event to mid-March, better suiting the schedule of athletes in the affected age categories.
Other notable elements in the 2019 championship calendar include the Canadian Half Marathon Championships moving to Winnipeg in June. The Canadian Combined Events Championships will once again be held in Ottawa as part of the Panamerican Combined Events Championships. The Canadian Track and Field Championships, which serve as the World Trials in 2019, will be held in Montreal, along with the 2020 edition which serves as the Tokyo Trials.
The Championship season ends November 30 in Abbotsford with the staging of the 2019 Canadian Cross Country Championships.
