The Township of Langley, B.C., Montreal, Ottawa, Saint John, N.B., Toronto and Winnipeg will all play host to an Athletics Canada Canadian Championship Series event in the upcoming hosting cycle.

"Saint John, N.B., is thrilled to be selected for the 2021 and 2022 Hershey Indoor Championships at our new field house scheduled to open in 2019. Our community will be proud to welcome athletes to our city and new facility. It is especially exciting to have this announcement, giving further evidence of the potential of the field house facility to attract new events to our region. Canadian 10km Road Race Championships
2019 to 2022 – Ottawa, held as part of Race Weekend

“We’re happy to have been awarded the Canadian 10K Championships for an additional four years. We know local running fans love to cheer on Canada’s top runners as they race through their city’s streets. And as Canada’s only 10K IAAF gold event, this is also great news for Canadian athletes looking to compete against the world’s best on a course lined up with Canada’s most enthusiastic spectators.”  John Halvorsen, President, Run Ottawa.

Canadian Half Marathon Championships
2019 to 2022 – Winnipeg, held as part of the Manitoba Marathon

Canadian Marathon Championships
2019 to 2022 – Toronto, held as part of Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon

“We are thrilled to continue our hosting of the Athletics Canada Canadian Marathon Championships through to 2022. It has been a great experience to partner with an innovative and receptive national federation who value the endurance and road racing component of the sport. Together, I think we’ve been able to provide more opportunities, more incentives, more encouragement for Canadian distance runners to take on the marathon and compete at the highest international levels in this classic event. We hope that this renewed partnership, that will take us through Tokyo 2020, will also take marathoning to the next level in our country, in terms of both quality and depth.” Alan Brookes, Race Director, Canada Running Series.
