Athletics Canada has initiated a third-party review of our policies and practices to ensure the maintenance of a safe, inclusive sporting environment, where no athletes, coaches or volunteers are subject to harassment of any kind.
Sport Law & Strategy Group, a Canadian firm with expertise in providing advice to leaders and organizations in the sport system, will lead the review, with an ultimate focus on ensuring no athlete, coach or volunteer feels intimidated or unsafe while participating in athletics.
Athletics Canada has received a complaint that does not involve or impact a minor. We take matters of this nature very seriously and have engaged a third-partyinvestigator to investigate the complaint. We are committed to ensuring the integrity of the process for all parties involved.
As this policy review is taking place, we welcome input from members and participants. To provide written feedback, please reach out to Rob Guy, Chief Executive Officer, rguy@athletics.ca.
Any complaints or concerns will be handled with appropriate confidentially and we will make every effort to ensure the voices of our athletes are captured as we undertake this review. We expect to provide a more detailed update on Athletics Canada’s next steps in the coming months.
