Athletics Canada merchandise program strikes new partnerships with ASAA, MHSAA and Metro Athletics

Athletics Canada announced today three new partnerships that will help support the expansion of its merchandise program.

Starting this fall, Athletics Canada will now serve as the exclusive provider of event-day merchandise for the Alberta Schools’ Athletic Association (ASAA) Cross Country and Track & Field Championships, the Manitoba High Schools Athletic Association (MHSAA) Cross Country and Track & Field Championships, as well as the Metro Edmonton Track & Field Championships.

Until now, Athletics Canada’s merchandise strategy has primarily focused on online sales through and event-day merchandise sales at Athletics Canada events and select running, health and fitness expos. 

“This is just the beginning,” said Athletics Canada’s Chief Operating Officer Mathieu Gentès. “The merchandise program started in 2014 as a new way to raise revenues for athletes and programming, while helping grow the brand. Our program now revolves around our online presence at, event merchandise at Athletics Canada and partner events, as well as wholesale opportunities with clubs, teams, branches and events.”

“We’re excited for our first partnered event Oct. 21 in Vermilion Lake, Alta., as we’ll be selling exclusive Championships gear at the 2018 ASAA Cross Country Championships. We worked closely with event organizers to come up with the design and we can’t wait to put the product in athletes’ hands,” said Gentès.

Athletics Canada’s insights into the sport, combined with Nike quality and stylings, can deliver a turn key solution for event organizers, clubs, teams and groups.
