Cannabis in sport

On October 17, 2018 the Government of Canada will legalize and regulate the use of cannabis.

Canadian athletes are reminded that they are still subject to the Canadian Anti-Doping Program (CADP), and that the use of cannabis under CADP is still banned.

Cannabis will continue to be a prohibited substance and a positive test can result in a sanction, even after October 17. Cannabis will continue to be listed as Prohibited in Competition on the World Anti-Doping agency prohibited list.
