Team/Club Championships and Team/Region-Branch Championships
There will be a Canadian Championship competition for Club and Region-Branch in the U18, U20 and Senior categories. Championship medals will be awarded to members of the top three teams. Team size for both team championships will be up to six (with top four scoring) for all divisions. Team scores will be tabulated based on overall placings in the official results. Ties will be decided in favour of the team whose last scoring member finishes nearer to the first-place position.
Please note:
Club teams DO NOT need to declare. Region-Branch teams need to declare in advance. Please send your declarations to Mitchell Torres at Mitchell.Torres@athletics.ca by 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 29.
All competitors on a Club team must be bona fide paid members of the same club. As far as teams are concerned, Canadian permanent residents, non-Canadian residents (claiming refugee status), foreign athletes and athletes that have been members of Athletics Canada for at least six months prior to the Championships, can be scoring members for their team. However, they still are not eligible to win individual Canadian Championship medals.
Masters Awards
Individual age group Master’s medals, Club team awards and the GAAT Trophy will be presented on-site.
Individual Awards
The top three male and female Canadian residents in each Master’s five-year age group will receive CMA medals. In addition, any non-residents finishing in the top three in any age group will receive duplicate medals.
Club Team Awards – 10-Year Age Groups
M70+, W70+ and W60 can declare up to three runners (top two score). All other 10-year age groups (W30/M30/W40/M40/W50/M50/M60) can declare up to four runners (top three score). Team scoring will be based on total time. One female may run on each male team, but not the reverse. Club teams must declare by 7:00 p.m. PT on Thursday, Nov. 28, by emailing Ted de St. Croix at tdsc@sotique.com .
Provincial Team Competition – GAAT Trophy
Results will be based on the top four age-graded provincial results, excluding the M30 and W30 age groups, of whom one must be from each gender. These teams do not have to be declared.
