Charles Philibert-Thiboutot from Quebec City has been added to the 600-metres World Record attempt taking place February 21 at the 2015 Hershey Canadian Indoor Championships at Complexe Sportif-Claude Robillard in Montreal, Que.

Two weeks ago at the McGill Team Challenge Philibert-Thiboutot placed first in the 1000-metres in a new Quebec provincial record of 2:21.02. He had a breakthrough season in 2014 setting a personal best of 3:38.33 in the 1500-metres and he represented Canada at the IAAF Continental Cup. He placed second in a very strong field in the Miracle Mile held in Vancouver as part of the National Track League’s Harry Jerome International Track Classic.

The indoor 600-metres World Record stands at 1:15.12 set in 1999 by Nico Motchebon of Germany.
