Annual Awards
The Athletics Canada Annual Awards are given out at the annual Hall of Fame and Annual Awards Ceremony. The period of consideration of performances in deciding the award of any trophy shall be from January 1 until December 31.
Canadian Masters Athletics awards the Masters Athletes of the Year in four categories: Male and Female Running / Race Walking and Male and Female Field Events. A nomination for any of these awards can be submitted directly to the CMA.
LIST OF AWARDS
The Outstanding Athlete of the Year is recognized by the Jack W. Davies Trophy. First awarded in 1933, the trophy shall be awarded to any eligible Canadian athlete in any Athletics discipline.
The Cal D. Bricker Memorial Trophy is awarded to the Canadian athlete recording the single outstanding performance of the year. First awarded in 1965.
The Phil A. Edwards Memorial Trophy shall be awarded annually to the outstanding Canadian athlete in track events. First awarded in 1972.
Awarded since 1952, The F.N.A. Rowell Trophy recognizes the outstanding athlete of the year in any field event, jumping or throwing.
The Dr. Fred Tees Memorial Trophy is awarded annually to the outstanding Canadian University Athlete of the Year. The athlete must have been a full time student for the complete academic year between 01 September and 31 August. While not limited to performances achieve in intercollegiate competition, the athlete must have taken part in official University competition (including the FISU Games).
This trophy recognizes the Off-track Athlete of the Year in road racing (running or wheelchair), cross country and off-track race walking events. First awarded in 1969.
This trophy is awarded annually to the Athlete of the Year in Combined Events. It was named after Lyle Sanderson in 2014.
First awarded in 1985, this trophy recognizes the top Junior Athlete of the Year.
First awarded in 1963, this trophy recognizes the top Youth Athlete of the Year.
First awarded in 2007, this award shall be given to the outstanding Canadian athlete in any wheelchair para athletics competition.
First awarded in 2007, this award shall be given to the outstanding Canadian athlete in any ambulatory para athletics competition.
Named after Dr. Doug Clement in 2014 and first awarded in 2007, this award recognizes the most outstanding Coach of the Year. The coach must have made outstanding contributions to the development of his/her high-performance athletes at an international level.
First awarded in 2014, the Jane and Gerry Swan award recognizes the Development Coach of the Year. The coach must have made outstanding contributions to the development of his/her athletes at any level of domestic competition.
The Official of the Year award recognizes an official from any level who has made an outstanding contribution to Athletics in the previous calendar year. First awarded in 1985.
