The Canadian Association for the Advancement of Women and Sport and Physical Activity (CAAWS) recently unveiled the organizations and individuals selected to receive a Women in Sport Encouragement (WISE) Fund for 2018. New Brunswick’s Julia Loparco has been selected as one of the ten 2018 recipients.

Loparco is a para-athletics coach based out of the Saint John Track Club. After a successful career in speed skating she traded in her blades and transitioned into coaching. She aspires to be named Athletics Legion Coach for the 2018 national championships. The WISE Fund will help her further her NCCP certifications.
