Are you a provincial branch member of Athletics Canada, if yes then you can register for the 2017 Canadian Track & Field Championships

Did you know the Canadian Track and Field Championships have an open qualifier section in both the Open and U20 divisions? Any member of a provincial branch can line up to try and earn a spot in the Championship sections – semi-finals or even finals. Imagine walking on and earning a spot to compete against the likes of Andre De Grasse, Melissa Bishop, Derek Drouin, Damian Warner and others.

Meeting the Championships entry standard in the Open or U20 divisions automatically advances you to a semi-final in track events, or the final of a field event. These national standards are intentionally difficult and apply to a small number of Canada’s top athletes, everyone else has to go through qualification to advance.  

If you’re a provincial branch member and don’t have this tough standard you can still register to try and earn your way into the Championship section. It’s a one in a lifetime opportunity, and with a little luck and talent you could earn your place on the big stage.
