Two-time Olympian Jessica Zelinka and UFC fighter Patrick “The Predator” Côté will race in the Bruny Surin Celebrity Sprint Challenge Friday February 20 in Montreal at Complexe Sportif Claude-Robillard. The celebrity race will be the first event in the schedule of the 2015 Hershey Canadian Indoor Championships.
Jessica Zelinka currently lives and trains in Montreal. The two-time Olympian (2008 and 2012) is gearing up for a big 2015 season with the Pan American Games in Toronto and the World Championships later this summer in Beijing, China. Zelinka won silver in the heptathlon at the recent Commonwealth Games, owns a gold medal from the 2007 Pan American Games and recorded a pair of seventh place finishes at the 2012 Olympic Games (heptathlon and 100-metre hurdles).
“The Predator” fights in the welterweight division. He was coach of Team Canada on the reality series The Ultimate Fighter Nations: Canada vs. Australia. He will face Joe Riggs at UFC 186 on April 25 in Montreal.
Zelinka and Côté join a lineup that already includes Olympic gold medallist Alexandre Bilodeau, Grey Cup Champion Étienne Boulay, former NHL tough guy Georges Laraque and TriStar Gym founder Firas Zahabi.
