Leslie Sexton of London, Ont., has been named October’s Athletics Canada / Biosteel Athlete of the Month after winnning the 2017 Canadian Marathon Championships.
After a breakthrough in 2015 and a silver medal finish, Sexton battled injury during 2016. On Oct. 22, she reached the top of the podium winning gold in Toronto with a time of 2:35:44.
