2022 Canadian Cross Country Championships TO TAKE PLACE In Mooney's Bay in Ottawa

Athletics Canada announced today that the 2022 Canadian Cross Country Championships will be hosted at Mooney’s Bay in Ottawa, moving away from last year’s course at Wesley Clover Parks.

The Local Organizing Committee and Athletics Canada made the decision to change the event’s location following feedback communicated in the post event survey of the 2021 edition.

Mooney’s Bay is situated in South Ottawa, mere minutes from downtown. Athletes competing there will run alongside water, across grass fields, and through wooded trails, while navigating a challenging hill whose top reveals a near-complete panoramic view of the entire park. The course is a common setting for university, club, elementary and high school cross country meets each year throughout September and October.

The Canadian Cross-Country Championships will be the biggest cross-country event ever to be held at the park, and will once again feature national championship races for U18, U20, Open and Masters competitors.

The 2022 championship is still scheduled for Saturday, November 26, and the registration window opens on Wednesday, September 7.
