Filming Tips for Evaluation

  1. Hold the camera steady and level
  2. Film from the angle (front, side, rear) that  best captures the event (most track and jumps events are best filmed from the side;  some throws are best filmed from behind the throwing circle).  If you feel you need to film from more than  one angle that is ok.
  3. Take a few clips of each event so you have a few  to choose from
  4. Plan a specific time to capture your clips and  give your athletes notice that you are going to film them
  5. Make sure you have the permission of the athlete  and their parents to capture the athlete’s   image
  6. Save your clips and name them so they are easy  to recall on the day of your evaluation.
