Arguably Canada's best 1500-metre runner over the last decade, Nicole Sifuentes announced her retirement last night. She posted a blog announcing that 2018 was her last competitive season.
So much to be thankful for! 2018 will be my last year as a professional athlete. https://t.co/A8Pt1kOVzP

Nicole first made her mark on the international scene at the 2008 NACAC under 23 Championships winning gold. Coincidently, her last national team would also be of the NACAC variety, the 2018 NACAC Championships in Toronto where she finished 5th.
In between those events she won silver at the 2010 Continental Cup, silver at the 2014 IAAF World Indoor Championships, silver at the 2015 Pan Am Games and represented Canada at the 2012 and 2016 Olympic Games.
