AC: How has your training been?

PG: Training has been great! Base training is always hard and the workouts that sprinters dread the most, but it's so essential to laying a good foundation for the whole year. I feel like I've laid a solid foundation and now as we're entering speed work my hard work is apparent. After months of only running it feels great to be reunited with the hurdles again and working on perfecting my craft.

AC: How would you rate your 2014 season? And what, if any, lessons did you learn last year that will help you in the future?

PG: 2014 was a building year for me. Coming off of an injury in 2013, I used 2014 to slowly build myself back and get back into the groove of being competitive. The biggest lesson I learned is to trust in the process and to remain patient while working through things.

AC: What role does the indoor season play as you prepare for a year that features the Pan Am Games and World Champs?

PG: Indoor season is a great tune up to the outdoor season. Competition sometimes brings about a totally different set of conditions to deal with. Indoor season provides a great way to work on technical things under race conditions. Especially in a year with two Championships, indoor is a great opportunity to get race sharp and ready for the outdoor season.

AC: What specific elements of your race or fitness are you focusing on?

PG: I’m mainly just focusing on being a better hurdler; working on the technical aspects of my race. I've been working on my start and my approach to the first hurdle. I'm planning to do some sprinting this year as well, so developing my speed has been another focus.

AC: With the championships in Montreal, are there any memories of a competition or the city itself that you'd like to share?

PG: Montreal is a beautiful city and I love visiting. I haven't had the pleasure of racing that much in Montreal so hopefully I'll create some memorable memories at this upcoming indoor Championship.

AC: What are your goals for 2015?

PG: My goals for 2015 are to defend my national title at Canadian Champs, as well as being a medallist at Pan Am Games and World Championships.
