National Coaches Week is a week to celebrate the tremendous positive impact coaches have on athletes and communities across Canada. This week is an opportunity to recognize coaches for the integral role they play by simply saying #ThanksCoach.
Athletics Canada wants to see our coaches celebrated all week long. Tag us on Instagram and Twitter and tell us why you are saying #ThanksCoach. At the end of the week we will select one male and one female coach from all of the entries and outfit them head to toe. Make sure you identify (tag if possible) your coach, be creative, use photos, video, a personal message, we’ll share the best ones throughout the week.
This week only coaches can also take 20% off the Coaches Week collection using discount code MERCICOACH.
“Take a moment this week to say #ThanksCoach. Sometimes this can mean more to a coach than any performance. Most of our coaches aren’t paid, much if at all. They do it for the love and to see the smiles on athletes’ faces when they achieve their goals. They do it for the moment of dawning realization in the athlete that they’ve become a better version of themselves,” John Lofranco, Athletics Canada Coach Education Manager.
The Coaching Association of Canada is also offering free online professional development courses. Coaches can take these online in the Locker and gain points toward maintenance of certification.
