2015 Youth Program update; Athletics Canada launches Hershey Outdoor Youth Series

Athletics Canada is pleased to announce formal plans today for a new and exciting initiative aimed at youth athletes. The 2015 season will see the launch of the Hershey Outdoor Regional Youth Series with events in Alberta, British-Columbia, Quebec and Prince Edward Island.

The addition of the Hershey Outdoor Youth Series to the annual calendar will provide an opportunity for thousands of Canadian youth to engage with the sport in a competitive environment.

In the coming weeks announcements will be made in terms of host cities, dates and registration information. Each Hershey Regional Youth Series event will incorporate community outreach events through a Run, Jump, Throw, Wheel Jamboree. The respective regional events will rotate year-to-year within each area based on a cycle established by the respective region. The rotation cycle is aimed at maximizing participation and growing the sport by allowing more people an opportunity to participate.
