SEPTEMBER 2023 UPDATE:

Brendon Rodney added a silver medal to his Olympic Games medal collection at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games with the 4x100m relay team.

He became a World Champion at the 2022 World Championships when the 4x100m relay team of Andre De Grasse, Jerome Blake, and Aaron Brown won gold and set a new Canadian record with their time of 37.48.

Brendon Rodney made his Olympic debut at Rio 2016 where he ran the third leg of the 4x100-metre relay that broke a 20-year-old national record to win bronze. He also competed in the 200 metres after winning the event at the 2016 Canadian Track & Field Championships and Olympic Trials, where he set a personal best time of 19.96 seconds, at the time becoming just the second Canadian to run sub-20 seconds. He had previously won the national 200-metre title in 2014, when he also made his senior international debut with Canada at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.

In 2015, Rodney won silver in the 200 metres at the Canadian Championships before going on to compete at the Pan American Games in Toronto where he missed advancing to the 200-metre final by one spot. He was also a member of the 4x100-metre relay team that appeared to have won Pan American gold, only to be disqualified for a lane violation. Rodney made his World Athletics Championships debut in 2015, running the third leg as Canada won bronze in the 4x100-metre relay. He also ran a then-personal best 20.18 seconds while advancing to the semi-finals in the 200 metres.

In 2017, Rodney was the national silver medallist in both the 100 metres and 200 metres and returned to the World Athletics Championships. He ran in both the 100 metres and 4x100-metre relay, finishing sixth in the latter. Earlier in the season he won gold with the 4x200-metre relay team at the World Relays in Nassau.

In 2019, Rodney finished second in the 200 metres at the Canadian Championships and was named to the team for the Pan American Games and the World Athletics Championships, reaching the 200-metre semi-finals at the latter.

He returned to the Canadian Olympic and Paralympic Trials this year in Montreal, scoring silver in the 200 metres and fourth in the 100 metres.

In 2014, Rodney set a school record at Long Island University (Brooklyn, N.Y.) in both the indoor and outdoor 200 metres and won the NEC title for the second year in a row while also taking the conference titles in the 60-metre indoor, 100 metres and 4x100-metre relay. As a junior in 2015, he reached the NCAA semi-finals in the 200 metres, 4x100-metre relay and 4x400-metre relay. As a senior, he finished third in the 200 metres at the indoor NCAA Championships. He would also earn his first outdoor NCAA podium, taking bronze in the 200 metres.
